On-Line Shopping & Product Information

Q  The product looks different from the website?

A - Please be aware that the fabric and wallpaper images on our website may show slight variations in colour as presented on your computer screen.  This may be due to resolution and RGB of your screen.

If you are unsure you can contact us by telephone 0161 282 3721 or via email at info@butterworth-interiors.co.uk to order a sample to ensure you are happy with your chosen product.  Samples are charged at £1.50 including delivery.

Q  I need help choosing my wallpaper or fabric?

A  We are here to help.  Our in-house designers are on hand to help you choose your wallpaper or fabric. We can offer over the telephone support, or customer visits depending on your location.  Contact us by telephone on 0161 282 3721 or via email at info@butterworth-interiors.co.uk with your details.

Q  How much wallpaper do I need?

A  Firstly please check the size of your chosen wallpaper before placing your order.  Most of our wallpapers are standard sizes approximately 52 cm (21 inches) wide and 10 m (11 yards) in length per roll.  We also supply wider papers, and these tend to be shorter in length. Our designer wallpapers are purchased by the running meter and are wide widths approximately 90 cm wide.

Q  What does pattern match mean?

A  The designs on wallpaper and fabric have a pattern match which is where the pattern repeats to be able to match to the next length.  Some patterns however such as stripes or plains have a 0 cm pattern repeat.

Some common pattern repeats are:

Straight match  this means the pattern matches across the width of the product.

An offset match or half drop means that match is obtained by halving the repeat. For example, a product might state a 53/26.5 cm match. This means the design repeats every 53 cm and the point at which they match from left to right is every 26.5 cm.

Free match or 0 cm PR means there is no matching required.

Q – What paste should I use?

A – Depending on the wallpaper the type of paste used may differ. We recommend the correct adhesive to be used as stated by the manufacturer on the label handing instructions. Generally, a good quality ready mixed adhesive is used.

Q – What is a batch number?

A – Wallpaper is printed in batches of rolls.  To ensure the printed colours of the wallpaper match exactly, it is important to have the same batch number for each of your rolls.  The batch number is located on the wallpaper label.

Q  What do the wallpaper and fabric symbols mean?

A  Each wallpaper and fabric have their own care instruction symbols.  For definitions of these:
